Jodie Foster presents The Raymond and Esther Kabbaz Award to her childhood friend, Clara-Lisa Kabbaz. The Award was created in 2006 to celebrate exemplary leaders of the French Community in the United States whose dedication, courage and innovation create a more inclusive cross-cultural society. As founders of Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles, Raymond and Esther Kabbaz successfully lobbied Sacramento in the early 1960's for a change in the Code of Education, paving the way for bilingual education in California schools. This accolade represents their single-minded pursuit of a dream.
